As the Support at Home reforms commence on 1 November 2025, many Australians are asking how fees, contributions, and hourly rates will work and, most importantly, how to make the most of their funding. How it differs from Home Care Package pricing

Under the outgoing Home Care Package model, many providers deducted monthly care and package management fees as a percentage of your package, regardless of how much care you actually activated. In Support at Home, you pay for the services you receive at provider-set prices, and government care management funding is handled differently via a pooled care management account. That’s a step forward in transparency and value for older Australians.

How Trilogy Care does it

Trilogy Care’s approach is simple and consistent: we apply a flat 10% loading on services ordered, with no hidden mark-ups or extra surcharges. Not all providers operate the same way. Always ask if you can choose your own workers, or if you’ll be limited to using only in-house staff at fixed rates. While a provider’s loading might look lower, the real driver of value is the hourly rate you’re allowed to pay - because that determines how far your budget goes.

For example, Trilogy Care clients can often book cleaning for around $60 per hour, whereas providers who employ their own staff might charge $90 to $120 per hour for the same service. Even if their loading appears lower, total costs are higher once you factor in the base labour rate. That’s why comparing only the percentage fee doesn’t tell the full story - the hourly rate and your ability to choose and negotiate matter most.
