Understanding fees under Support at Home
29 Oct 2025

Support at Home makes it easier to see where your money goes and what you get in return. This guide explains the key fees in clear, plain language so you can make confident choices.
You will see how the ten percent care management fee (set by the government) works, how Trilogy Care loading applies only when a service is delivered, and what changes if you prefer us to coordinate for you. The aim is simple - turn more of your budget into real support at home while keeping choice and control.
The big change: a 10 percent cap on care management
Under the new rules, care management is capped at 10 percent for all registered providers. That means fewer surprises and a clearer view of what you funding you have available to spend on services each quarter.
How pricing works with Trilogy Care
With Trilogy Care, clients choose trusted local workers at local rates. Two things apply:
The care management fee of 10 percent, set by the government
A Trilogy Care loading fee of 10 percent added only when you use a service
The Trilogy Care loading fee helps cover the essential administrative, financial, and compliance systems that ensure your funding is managed efficiently and transparently.
There are no extra layers on top of your total funding. You see a clear price when a service is delivered.
A simple example you can apply to your own situation
Say your gardener charges $60 an hour.
Self-managed with Trilogy Care: $60 plus a 10 percent Trilogy Care loading = total $66
Some traditional full-service models charge $143 an hour for the same task.
If you are a full pensioner, your contribution for everyday living support is typically 17.5 percent of the service price. So in the Trilogy Care example, this equate to $11.55 for the hour of gardening. While with a traditional provider your contribution would be $24.50 or potentially more.
The higher hourly price means you pay more out of pocket. It also means your funding buys fewer hours of help.
Prefer less admin? Choose full coordination and keep your choice
You can add full coordination if you want support with scheduling and follow-up. You still choose your preferred workers, while Trilogy Care organises the bookings and compliance.
Using the same $60 gardening example:
Coordination adds 20 percent to the service price ($60 + 20% = $72)
The 10 percent Trilogy Care loading is then applied ($72 + 10% = $79.20)
The total is $79.20 for the hour
Even under Trilogy Care’s Fully Coordinated service, the cost of services is less than that of full service providers.
What ‘pay for what you use’ means
Trilogy Care applies the small loading fee only when you use a service. If you do not book a visit, there is no loading. Your quarterly budget stays focused on actual help in your home.
This approach is simple:
You choose your workers
You agree local rates
You pay only when support happens
More of your budget is used for real care hours
Make every quarter count
Support at Home funding is released in quarterly blocks. Planning helps you use your funding before funding resets at the end of the quarter. Trilogy Care makes this easier with:
A clear view of your remaining budget
Simple statements
Timely reminders before the quarter ends
Practical tips to line up the next few weeks of support
The goal is the same each quarter: fewer unused dollars and more hours of help at home.
