To get Carer Payment, both you and the person you provide care for need to be eligible.
You need to both:
- be Australian residents, and
- meet and income and assets test
The Care Recipient must meet all of the following:
- have a disability or medical condition likely to last at least 6 months, or have a terminal illness
- need constant care in their home, your home or in hospital.
