2023 has been a big year for Trilogy Care and our care coordinator partners with many industry and Trilogy Care updates and improvements coming into play.
To help you keep across the developments, we have pulled together a summary of the major updates in our sector during the past 12 months.
Home Care Package Operational Manual: A Guide for Home Care Providers
During January, The Department of Health and Aged Care released a revised version of the Home Care Package Operational Manual: A Guide for Home Care Providers. The document was then revised in August. you can download a copy of the full document on the Department of Health and Aged Care website.
Award wage increase by 15%: A win for aged care workers
Under the Fair Work commissions’s Aged Care Work Value case, all perople workers under the Aged Care Award 2010, Nurses Award 2020 and Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS) 2010 received a 15% award wage increase. The changes took effect from the start of the first full pay period on or after 30 June 2023.
Extension of the Home Care Package Program
The new Support at Home Program will now start from 1 July 2025. The Government has advised the postponement of the Support at Home Program will allow for an extra 12 months to further refine the program design.
Existing in-home care programs including the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and the Home Care Packages (HCP) Program will continue until 30 June 2025.
Trilogy Care updates
Updated onboarding questionnaire and coordination resources for consumer onboarding
We have made some essential updates to the consumer onboarding questionnaire, required to ensure that compliance under the Aged Care Quality Standards is maintained for the care that we collectively provide.
The new questionnaire includes additional risk-based questions (similar to the risk profile questionnaires). It is also now mandatory to provide a copy of the consumers medical health summary as part of the onboarding questionnaire.
These steps ensure that we are equipped to best support consumers in the preparation, planning and ongoing delivery of their care services.
New online budget tool
Trilogy Care has created a new online budget tool to help you estimate the services for your consumers.
Please note that the use of this tool does not constitute an approval for funding a particular item, and all calculations should be treated as estimates.
By clicking ‘submit’ you will be able to download a PDF copy of the tool.
This form will not be submitted to Trilogy Care for action unless you forward the PDF copy to your care partner directly.
We were very excited to announce the early release of the Trilogy Care Portal, that was made available in response to the high demand for accessing client balances via our dedicated balance enquiry phone line.
The Portal was launched with essential functionalities, such as client balances and transactions, with additional features like care plans, budgets, bills etc still under development. We are looking forward to seeing the further Portal enhancements being rolled out in 2024.
